The British College (TBC) has been re-accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), becoming the first and only higher education institution in Nepal to receive the UK quality assurance body’s renewed accreditation.

The accreditation is valid until May 31, 2030, following a comprehensive institutional inspection by a team of BAC inspectors from the United Kingdom. The review assessed the college’s academic programmes, teaching quality, governance, student support services, facilities, online provision and graduate employability.

BAC, one of the UK’s leading independent quality assurance bodies for further and higher education, awards accreditation only to institutions that meet stringent standards in governance, academic management, teaching and learning, student welfare, facilities and quality assurance.

Academic Dean Dr Declan P. Bannon said the reaccreditation recognised the strength of the college’s academic systems and the dedication of its faculty and professional teams. BAC Deputy Chief Executive Lucy Fox said the accreditation reflected the institution’s commitment to maintaining clear standards and delivering a quality student experience.

TBC Chief Executive Officer and founder Rajen Kandel described the achievement as a significant milestone for Nepal’s higher education sector and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to adopting international best practices.

The reaccreditation comes months after the college faced disruptions stemming from an alleged misinformation and extortion campaign, which led to arrests and legal proceedings.
