KATHMANDU, JUNE 7
In a first for Nepal’s advertising industry, Ranjit Acharya, founder and chief executive officer of Prisma Advertising, has been nominated as a jury member for the 17th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026.
The appointment places a Nepali creative professional on the jury of one of the world’s leading festivals for corporate films, documentaries and branded media productions, marking a significant milestone for Nepal’s growing creative sector.
Held annually in Cannes, France, the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards recognises excellence in corporate filmmaking, online media and visual storytelling. The international competition attracts entries from agencies, production houses, broadcasters, corporations and students from around the world.
Acharya, a veteran advertising and communications professional with more than three decades of experience, has played a prominent role in shaping Nepal’s branding and marketing landscape. Under his leadership, Prisma Advertising has won multiple Best Agency of the Year titles and produced some of Nepal’s most recognised advertising campaigns, including Coca-Cola Nepal’s “Mann Kholaun Coke Sanga” campaign and the rebranding of Mero Mobile as Ncell.
His international recognitions include the Bell Ringer Award, the ABBY Award and the BrandLaureate BestBrands Award 2025, making Prisma the first Nepali agency to receive the latter honour.
As a jury member, Acharya will evaluate entries from filmmakers, agencies and broadcasters worldwide, bringing a perspective shaped by Nepal’s creative industry and South Asian storytelling traditions.
In a statement, Acharya described the nomination as recognition not only of his own work but also of the aspirations of Nepali creatives seeking a place on the global stage.
Industry observers view the appointment as a notable achievement for Nepal’s advertising fraternity and a sign of the increasing international visibility of the country’s creative talent.
