KATHMANDU, JUNE 7

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal organized the 2026 K-Vibe Festival, titled “Glow and Taste,” on Saturday at Chhaya Center, Kathmandu, highlighting Korean beauty, cuisine and cultural exchange.

The event brought together eight local K-beauty shops and distributors, six Korean restaurants under the Korean Restaurant Association in Kathmandu, along with three key South Korean institutions in Nepal-KOICA, KOPIA and the EPS Center-working in international cooperation, agricultural development and migrant worker management.

Addressing the event, Korean Ambassador Park Taeyoung said Korean beauty and cultural festivals have become a strong cultural bridge, helping young people connect with global trends while expressing their own identity. He also noted the growing popularity of Korean culture in Nepal, including K-beauty, K-pop, K-dramas and Korean cuisine.

The K-Vibe Festival, supported by South Korean government agencies including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, is designed to promote the Korean Wave globally through immersive cultural experiences.

The Kathmandu edition featured K-beauty demonstrations, skincare and makeup workshops, K-pop and K-food experiences, a hanbok experience, Korean trivia quizzes and themed photo booths.

According to the Embassy, the festival reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and cultural cooperation between Nepal and Korea. It added that the event marked another milestone in bilateral cultural engagement through shared appreciation of beauty, tradition and lifestyle.

The festival drew an estimated 2,300 visitors, including members of the public, stakeholders and media representatives.
