Manaslu trek route reopens as weather clears – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 2
The Manaslu trekking route, including Larke Pass, has repoened following improvements in weather conditions, according to the notice issued by Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN).
According to TAAN, rainfall and snowfall have stopped across major areas of the region, allowing trekking activities to resume. The information was based on updates from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the District Administration Office, Gorkha, and local tourism stakeholders, the notice said.
Around 400 trekkers and support staff have departed Samdo for Dharamsala and are expected to cross Larke Pass on Sunday, TAAN said.
The association has urged trekking companies to ensure all groups are accompanied by licensed guides and adequate support teams, and to exercise caution in landslide-prone sections between Jagat and Nyak, as the road is open only up to Khorlabesi.
TAAN also requested coordination with local authorities and security agencies and advised avoiding alternative or difficult trails until conditions further stabilize.
