Nearly 825 kg of marijuana seized, one arrested in Saptari – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 24

Police have arrested a man with around 825 kilograms of marijuana from Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality–4 in Saptari district, on Wednesday morning.

The arrested has been identified as Ram Kumar Yadav, 29, a resident of Rajbiraj Municipality–11.

According to police, a joint team from the District Police Office, Saptari, and the Area Police Office, Sakhada, recovered 824.6 kg of marijuana during a check of a pickup truck.

Police said the contraband was found packed in 32 bundles inside the pickup truck bearing registration number Ko 1 Cha 9665. Yadav, who was driving the vehicle, was taken into custody on the spot.

Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
