Throughout their expedition, the duo faced numerous challenges — most notably, difficulties with India’s still-developing EV charging infrastructure. According to them, many fast-charging stations were scattered or incomplete, and payment systems were incompatible with Nepali ATM or credit cards. These hurdles could have brought their mission to a halt, but the kindness of strangers along the way made the difference.

“Some people didn’t know us at all but came forward to help — whether it was offering technical support, payment assistance, or just encouragement,” Awashis said. “That human connection was just as powerful as any charging station.”

Despite widespread skepticism about whether the Tata Curvv.ev could endure such a long and demanding trip, the vehicle exceeded expectations. It performed admirably under intense heat, long stretches of highway, and even rural patches where charging options were scarce. Tata Group Nepal has applauded this achievement, calling it a moment of pride and a testament to the capability of their latest EV offering.

The successful completion of this journey by Awashis Ojha and Bijaya Ram Kashajoo is being celebrated as a landmark event in Nepal’s EV history. Their story serves as an inspiration to countless others who dream of exploring the world sustainably, proving that with courage, planning, and community support — even the boldest road trips are within reach.

Their achievement isn’t just a win for electric mobility, but a proud moment for Nepal and the entire South Asian EV community.
