Huawei Rolls Out Smart EV Charging Network Across Nepal, Paving Way for Green Mobility
In a move set to boost Nepal’s transition to sustainable transportation, Huawei Nepal has officially launched its FusionCharge Smart EV Charging Network, starting with a flagship charging station in Kathmandu. This milestone project—unveiled in collaboration with GadiCharge Pvt. Ltd. and Nepal Ekarat Engineering Co. (NEEK)—coincided with World Environment Day, underscoring its commitment to eco-conscious innovation.
A Nationwide Charging Vision
Huawei plans to establish nine high-capacity FusionCharge stations across key locations in Nepal by the end of 2025. The ultra-fast chargers are expected to significantly support the country’s growing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem—catering to both individual users and public transport fleets.
Game-Changing Charging Tech
The FusionCharge system stands out with features like:
– Ultra-fast charging up to 500 kW
– Liquid-cooled, modular architecture
– Over 80% energy conversion efficiency
– Quiet operation (<50 dB)
– Designed for extreme weather: –35 °C to +45 °C
These stations are not just powerful—they’re smart too. FusionCharge units support over-the-air (OTA) updates, energy optimization through solar integration and energy storage systems, and grid-friendly capabilities like reactive power control and virtual power plant (VPP) readiness.
A Long-Term Green Strategy
Speaking at the launch event, Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama praised the initiative as a step forward in modernizing infrastructure while addressing climate goals. Huawei officials emphasized that the project aligns with their global mission to drive digital and environmental transformation simultaneously.
Huawei has been active in Nepal since 1999, working across digital inclusion, education, and clean energy sectors. Its EV charging venture marks a new chapter in the company’s local engagement, reinforcing the synergy between advanced technology and sustainability.
