KATHMANDU, JUNE 27

The government has collected Rs 1.112 trillion in revenue, achieving 75.17 percent of its annual target with 19 days remaining in the current fiscal year.

According to the Office of the Comptroller General, revenue collection stood at Rs 1.112 trillion as of Friday against the annual target of Rs 1.48 trillion. The government will need to raise an additional Rs 367.5 billion in the remaining days to meet the target.

Tax revenue reached Rs 1.01 trillion, or 76.2 percent of the Rs 1.325 trillion target. Non-tax revenue collection stood at Rs 102 billion, meeting about 66 percent of the Rs 154 billion target.

Grant receipts, however, remained below expectations, with only Rs 24 billion received against the annual target of Rs 53 billion, representing 45.11 percent achievement.

Meanwhile, total government expenditure reached Rs 1.44 trillion, or 71.53 percent of the annual budget, with Rs 5 billion spent on Friday alone.

Current expenditure accounted for Rs 949 billion, achieving 80.42 percent of the allocated Rs 1.18 trillion. Capital expenditure, however, remained low at Rs 142 billion, or 34.87 percent of the Rs 407 billion target earmarked for development and infrastructure projects.
