KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 2
The French Embassy in Nepal and the Alliance française have inaugurated Micro-Folie, a new digital cultural platform at the Alliance française in Pulchowk, offering free access to thousands of digitized artworks from world-renowned museums.
Supported by the French Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette, Micro-Folie brings together over 5,000 works from 12 major institutions, including the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, and the Château de Versailles.
Ambassador of France to Nepal Virginie Corteval inaugurated the facility, calling it “a unique opportunity for people in Nepal to immerse themselves in art and shared human heritage.”
Two public sessions per week will be organized at the Alliance française, with activities targeting families, students, and cultural associations.
The initiative aims to promote cultural exchange and digital access to global art heritage, marking a new milestone in Franco-Nepali cooperation in arts and education.
