Four die after being buried in mudslide in Sarlahi – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

BARAHATHAWA, OCTOBER 1

Four persons died after being buried in a mudslide at Haripuwa in Sarlahi district this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Sayada Khatun, 65, six-year-old Sabiba Khatun, eight-year-old Dillu Mansur and nine-year-old Nargis Khatun of Sonama rural municipality-6 in Mahottari district, according to Assistant Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Balinthar Singh.

The incident took place when they had gone to the bank of Hardi stream at Haripuwa municipality-1 to extract mud.

Locals had rescued them immediately after the incident and rushed them to Provincial Hospital, Malangawa, where the doctors declared them dead, added Singh.
