KATHMANDU, JUNE 18

Dhairya Cancer Foundation (DCF) has launched a therapeutic knitting and crochet programme for parents of children undergoing cancer treatment.

The session, held in collaboration with Warming Hearts Nepal, was conducted at a shelter facility in Kathmandu and facilitated by DCF Founder Terisa Tamang along with a craft specialist.

The programme aims to provide emotional relief, focus and mental well-being for caregivers living under prolonged stress during their child’s treatment.

Participants engaged in knitting and crochet activities, describing the experience as calming and meaningful, while expressing interest in continuing future sessions.

DCF said the initiative combines skill-building with psychosocial support and plans to expand the programme under its “Thread of Hope” initiative.

The foundation works to support cancer patients and families through psychosocial care, awareness and community-based interventions.
