byd dolphin release date
Kathmandu, June 22 – BYD, a global leader in electric vehicles, has officially launched the latest version of its popular hatchback, the BYD Dolphin, in Nepal through its authorized distributor Cimex Inc. The new model brings notable upgrades, including a new Atlantic Grey color and a first-of-its-kind innovation in the Nepali EV market—a 12V LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) auxiliary battery, replacing the traditional lead-acid battery.
This LFP battery upgrade marks a major step forward for electric mobility in Nepal. Compared to lead-acid batteries, LFP batteries are known for their longer lifespan—up to 15 years, better thermal stability, and minimal self-discharge, meaning owners no longer need to worry about drained 12V batteries during prolonged non-usage.
Another standout feature is the new Digital NFC Key and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to unlock and operate the Dolphin via their smartphone—no physical key required. These features enhance the car’s tech-savvy appeal, aligning with modern urban needs and user convenience.
