CIAA files corruption case against 14, including former health DG Mishra – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper
KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 20
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 14 individuals, including former Director General of the Department of Health Services, Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra, at the Special Court.
They are accused of submitting fake documents and bills while purchasing mammography machines for the department.
According to CIAA Spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel, those charged include former directors Dr. Shrawan Kumar Thapa, Dr. Surendra Prasad Chaurasiya, Dr. Bibek Kumar Lal, and several administrative officers and engineers. Two individuals from Maxim Incorporation Pvt. Ltd., the supplier company, are also among the accused.
The anti-graft body has sought jail terms and fines of Rs 146 million each, along with an equivalent amount in compensation.
