KATHMANDU, APRIL 28

New Diamond Youth Sports Club has secured a place in the women’s final of the 10th PM Cup Nepal Volleyball Association League after registering its fourth consecutive victory.

On the sixth day of the ongoing competition at the National Sports Council covered hall on Tuesday, New Diamond defeated APF Club 3–1 to confirm its berth in the final showdown. The set scores were 25–21, 20–25, 25–18, and 25–21 in favour of New Diamond.

With this victory, New Diamond has already secured its place in the title clash even before completing its league fixtures. The team will face Nepal Police Club in its final league match.

In another women’s fixture earlier in the day, Tribhuvan Army Club registered its first victory of the tournament, defeating Sudurpaschim Province Volleyball Club in straight sets, 25–15, 25–10, and 25–5.

In the men’s category, Nepal Police Club continued its dominant run, securing a fifth consecutive win on the sixth day of the Red Bull 10th PM Cup Nepal Volleyball Association League.

In a departmental derby, Police defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 3–1 in sets to remain unbeaten. With this win, Nepal Police Club has accumulated 15 points and sits atop the standings.

Army, meanwhile, suffered its first defeat in four matches and remains in fourth place with 8 points from the same number of games.

Nepal Police made an early breakthrough by taking the first set 25–22. However, Army responded strongly in the second set, dominating 25–15 to level the match at 1–1.

The third set proved tightly contested, with Police narrowly edging Army 26–24 in a tense finish to take a 2–1 lead.

In the fourth set, Army initially led and kept the contest competitive in the early stages. However, Police staged a strong comeback to clinch the set 25–18 and secure the match victory.

The league, organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association, features eight teams in the men’s category and six teams in the women’s category.
