KATHMANDU: Tasneem’s Cookout with MTR, an event that brought together guests for an immersive introduction to the heritage of Mavalli Tiffin Rooms (MTR) and its celebrated South Indian vegetarian cuisine, took place in Kamalpokhari on August 23.

According to a press release issued by Le Sherpa Concept, the event walked the participants through MTR’s traditional cooking methods and signature recipes, connecting the food on the table with a culinary legacy that traces its roots to Bengaluru more than

a century ago. The Kamalpokhari outlet functions as an authentic MTR franchise, serving a fully vegetarian South Indian menu in Kathmandu. The release noted that MTR has brought a distinctive vegetarian dining experience to the local market while staying rooted in its traditional recipes and South Indian culinary identity.

The release also mentioned that MTR’s presence in Nepal is not limited to the Capital. Its presence extends to Muktinath serving South Indian vegetarian food to pilgrims and travellers visiting the area.

As per the release, MTR operates in Nepal under Le Sherpa Concept, a hospitality group that oversees nine hospitality and food projects within the Valley. The group describes itself as being focused on quality, sustainability, and creating spaces that bring people together, adding that its hotels, restaurants, and cafés are run with an emphasis on thoughtful design, responsible practices, and meaningful guest experiences.
