OnePlus 15 Leaks, Rumors and Launch Date – GadgetByte Nepal

If you’ve been following smartphone developments, OnePlus, like Xiaomi and iQOO (who skipped the Xiaomi 16 series and iQOO 14 for the iQOO 15), also skipped the OnePlus 14. And here we are with OnePlus quietly preparing the OnePlus 15. Although this particular detail was already revealed quite earlier, now we have real-life photos of the device that surfaced at the 2025 Peace Elite Professional League Summer Finals, and it’s already raising some eyebrows. Now, let’s jump into this article, where I’ll discuss everything about the OnePlus 15, including rumored specs, performance, and availability.

OnePlus 15 Overview

Design and Display

The OnePlus 15 features a revamped squarish camera module in the upper-left corner, which is also very similar to the OnePlus 13T. The two lenses of the OnePlus 15 sit in a pill-shaped arrangement,  while another lens and the LED flash are separated on the right. The display measures 6.78 inches, using a flat LTPO AMOLED panel that hits 1.5K resolution with a dynamic refresh rate that ranges from 1Hz to 165Hz. It supports Dolby Vision and Pro XDR, and its advertised peak brightness is 1,800 nits. Talking about the refresh rate, that’s something worth pausing on because iPhone just recently moved to 120Hz in the iPhone 17, but OnePlus at the same time is now pushing into “pure gaming territory” here. 

Performance and Software

The OnePlus 15 will among the many other flagship devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset ( Geekbench results reportedly show 3,709 in single-core performance and around 11,000 in multi-core), paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Some notable devices that features or might certainly feature are Xiaomi 17 series, Galaxy S26 Ultra (upcoming), iQOO 15 (launching next week) and so much more. Similarly, the current leaks suggest that memory configurations could be ranging from 12GB with 256GB storage, all the way up to 16GB with 1TB storage. Additionally, OnePlus is integrating Wind Chi Game Kernel 2.0 to optimize gaming performance.

Camera and Battery

According to the new rumors, the rear camera setup will includes three 50MP lenses. The main camera uses a Sony LYT-700 sensor with 24mm focal length, f/1.8 aperture, and OIS. The ultrawide and telephoto lenses both use Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensors.  The ultrawide will apparently offer a 0.6x (15mm) field of view at f/2.0, and the telephoto will provide a 3.5x periscope zoom (85mm) with f/2.8 aperture and OIS. OnePlus’ new “DetailMax Engine” is said to improve sharpness and detail in photos.

But unlike Samsung or Pixel, battery capacity in OnePlus’ flagship is quite substantial at 7,300 mAh, and which, by the way, supports a 120W wired and 50W wireless charging as well. 

Other Features

There aren’t many other leaks that reveal anything significant about the phone. But some rumors mention that the OnePlus 15 will include a new-generation linear dual speaker setup, a large-volume vibration motor, and a new wet-hand touch algorithm for better responsiveness (this could be an increment over the aqua touch that they introduced with the OnePlus 12 series). Moreover, security will come via an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader, and cooling is expected to be handled by a new-generation system. The phone will also support multi-function NFC, an IR blaster, and a USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port with 5Gbps transfer speed.

OnePlus 15 Launch and Availability

OnePlus has not shared an official launch date yet. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s 17 series featuring the same chip is set to debut this month, so the OnePlus 15 might not be far behind. It is expected to come in Absolute Black, Dune, Mist Purple, and the new White variant.
