Nepali authors present works at Frankfurt Book Fair – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 12

Nepali authors Pushpa Joshi and Lila Raj Karki represented Nepal at the Frankfurt Book Fair, held from October 7 to 11 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The five-day event, one of the world’s largest book fairs, attracted approximately 236,000 visitors and featured 4,000 exhibitors from 137 countries, alongside more than 3,800 events, according to the fair’s organisers.

On the final day, Joshi and Karki read excerpts from their respective books, The Clue Catchers and Kshitij Pari Ko Basti, at a session hosted by the Foreigners Advisory Council for the City of Frankfurt. Their participation was coordinated by Nepali Samaj, a Frankfurt-based social organisation.

Published by Kathmandu-based Beyond Stories, Joshi’s The Clue Catchers is a children’s mystery book featuring a young protagonist and her father solving neighbourhood mysteries. Through four stories, the pair follow clues and solve puzzles, highlighting curiosity, observation, teamwork and problem-solving. The book has been included as a reference book in selected schools in Nepal.

Karki’s Kshitij Pari Ko Basti is a collection of contemporary poems exploring a range of themes.

The participation offered an opportunity to introduce Nepali literary works to an international audience at a major global publishing event.
