KATHMANDU, AUGUST 30

The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has decided to contribute Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation of communities affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa.

NAIMA expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the disaster and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The association said its member companies have already supported rescue and relief efforts through financial assistance, transportation, logistics and other forms of support.

NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said disaster response was a shared responsibility of the private sector and called for continued cooperation among the government, private sector and local communities.

The association also thanked government agencies, security personnel, health workers, rescue teams, volunteers and local communities involved in search, rescue and relief operations, and urged stakeholders in the automobile and mobility sector to extend support according to their capacity.
