KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 19

A German tourist and his Nepali guide, who had gone missing along the Dhaulagiri Circuit trekking route, have been found safe.

According to the Mustang District Police Office, 32-year-old German national Damino Del Phaplo and his guide Mima Sherpa of Seven Summit Trekking came into contact on Saturday night. They reached Gharapjhong Rural Municipality–3, Syang, at around 9 p.m., said DSP Chhiring Kippa Lama of Mustang Police.

The duo reportedly lost their way while trekking from the base camp of Mt. Dhaulagiri in Myagdi to Dhampus Peak in Mustang. A helicopter search was also mobilized on Saturday after they went out of contact on Friday night.

The Dhaulagiri Circuit is a popular but challenging trekking route stretching across Myagdi and Mustang districts.
