Lucid Gravity Finally Gets Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Update

Share

Lucid Motors has finally closed the biggest gap in its flagship SUV’s feature list. On March 11, 2026, the automaker announced a major software breakthrough. Specifically, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now rolling out to the Lucid Gravity via an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Because many early adopters found the lack of smartphone mirroring frustrating, this update marks a significant milestone. Consequently, the brand expects higher owner satisfaction scores this quarter.

The Rollout: Lucid UX 3.5 is Here

The new functionality arrives as part of the Lucid UX 3.5 firmware update. Since Lucid pushes updates in phases, North American owners began receiving notifications today.

  • Cost: The update is completely free for all current owners.
  • Standard Status: Moving forward, all new Gravity models will include these features as standard equipment.

Wireless vs. Wired: How It Works

Lucid has opted for total flexibility. Therefore, the Gravity supports both wireless and USB connections for both platforms.

  • Wireless Advantage: Your phone will launch CarPlay automatically when you enter the vehicle.
  • Charging Harmony: Since the Gravity features high-speed wireless pads, you can navigate without draining your battery.

The “Clearview” Integration

Rather than using a small window, Lucid integrated the interfaces into its massive 34-inch curved display.

  • Upper Right Panel: The smartphone interface primarily occupies the right section of the “Clearview” screen.
  • Voice Control: Drivers can trigger Siri or Google Assistant via the steering wheel button.
  • Dual-View: Thus, you can keep vehicle settings on the lower panel while running Waze on the main screen.

Global Timeline: When Will You Get It?

While North American owners are first, the global rollout follows a strict schedule. This ensures compliance with regional software laws.

Region Expected Update Date
North America Live Now (March 12, 2026)
Middle East Late March 2026
Europe Late March 2026

What’s Next for Lucid Software?

The addition of CarPlay is part of a broader “Software Stabilization” plan. Furthermore, the company expects to release “Camp Mode” very soon. Also, look for native video streaming apps like Netflix by the end of June.
