KATHMANDU, MAY 23

Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara has appointed acclaimed Thai culinary expert Chef Thaksorn Than Sertsirikai as its new Executive Chef.

Popularly known as Chef Than, he brings nearly 38 years of international culinary experience to the resort, which is part of The Centara Collection.

According to the resort, Chef Than has worked in several renowned hospitality establishments including Ambassador Hotel Pattaya, Krabi Resort, Centara Krabi, Novotel Rayong, Sheraton and Amari Hua Hin. His professional experience also spans Singapore, Mali and Phuket.

Chef Than is known for his expertise in Thai, Chinese and Western cuisines and has received the prestigious Iron Pan Chef award for Thai cuisine.

In his new role, he is expected to develop a dining identity that combines authentic Thai cuisine with Nepali gastronomy by incorporating local Himalayan ingredients and traditional flavours.

The resort stated that guests can expect menus featuring Thai specialties alongside reimagined Nepali dishes, aimed at offering a distinctive culinary experience.

Speaking on the occasion, Chef Than said he was excited to introduce Thai cuisine to guests in Nepal while also learning from local culinary traditions and ingredients.

The appointment is part of the resort’s efforts to strengthen its hospitality and dining services, according to the management.

Located in Kaskikot, around 35 minutes from Pokhara, Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara offers accommodation, wellness facilities and cultural experiences overlooking the Annapurna mountain range.
