Himalaya Airlines resumes direct Kathmandu-Shanghai flights – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 30

Himalaya Airlines has resumed direct scheduled flights between Kathmandu and Shanghai, reconnecting Tribhuvan International Airport with Shanghai Pudong International Airport from September 28.

The first resumed flight departed Kathmandu at 7:11 pm on September 28 and arrived in Shanghai at 2:36 am the following day. The return flight left Shanghai at 4:36 am on September 29 and landed in Kathmandu at 8:13 am the same day.

The airline is initially operating two flights a week on the route, with Kathmandu-Shanghai services on Mondays and Fridays and return flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. According to the airline, flight frequency may be increased based on passenger demand and load factors.

For the period from September 28 to October 23, flights from Kathmandu are scheduled to depart at 6:25 pm and arrive in Shanghai at 2 am the following day. Return flights from Shanghai, effective September 29 to October 24, are scheduled to depart at 3 am and arrive in Kathmandu at 7:10 am.

Himalaya Airlines said the resumed service is expected to improve air connectivity between Nepal and China and support tourism and business travel, particularly during Nepal’s autumn tourism season.

The airline, a Nepal-China joint venture established in 2014, currently operates flights to destinations in the Middle East, South Asia and China.
