Electric Vans Begin Operation in Jumla

Jumla district has embraced a new chapter in sustainable mobility with the introduction of ten electric vans. Operated under the DFSK Danfe brand by Thee GO, these vehicles have officially started service, and the local community is celebrating this historic achievement. The initiative is a strong example of how clean energy is reaching even the most remote regions of Nepal. With this rollout, the government and private sector have also promised to install more EV charging stations in and around Jumla, making the transition to electric transport more convenient and practical.

The impact of these electric vans goes beyond environmental benefits. Travel fares are expected to decrease, easing the financial burden on daily commuters. Additionally, Thee GO has introduced a special incentive program for older drivers and vehicle owners who are willing to make the switch to electric vehicles. This program not only encourages the adoption of EVs but also helps preserve the livelihoods of existing transport workers. Since each van can travel up to 200 kilometers on a single charge and a full top-up costs just Rs. 900, the savings on fuel and maintenance will be significant for vehicle operators.
