The third edition of the Nepal Premier League continues on Monday with a double-header, as four teams begin their quest for the title in a season featuring major upgrades, including the tournament’s first use of the Decision Review System (DRS).

According to the Cricket Association of Nepal, Biratnagar Kings and Chitwan Rhinos will face off in the day’s first match at 12:30 pm, while Janakpur Bolts and Karnali Yaks will meet in the evening fixture at 5:00 pm.

Among the four teams in action, Janakpur Bolts are the only former NPL champions. They enter the tournament aiming to reclaim the title, while Karnali Yaks hope to lift the trophy for the first time. Biratnagar and Chitwan are also seeking breakthrough campaigns.

This season has introduced several milestones for Nepali franchise cricket. The NPL is using DRS for the first time, while the tournament has also received international recognition from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The Cricket Association of Nepal has also increased prize money, with the champions set to receive Rs 15 million and the runners-up Rs 8 million, raising the stakes for teams competing in this year’s tournament.
