KATHMANDU, MAY 4
The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal has stepped up efforts to strengthen U.S.–Nepal economic cooperation by engaging the Nepali diaspora in the United States to promote investment and commercial diplomacy.
In partnership with Staggered Private Equity, AmCham Nepal organised a diaspora-focused interaction in Charlotte, bringing together Nepali-origin professionals from banking, private equity, entrepreneurship and real estate sectors.
The dialogue centred on facilitating structured investment pathways into Nepal and aligning private sector engagement with the government’s economic priorities. Participants expressed interest in working with AmCham Nepal as a platform to channel investment and strengthen long-term economic linkages.
AmCham Nepal Executive Director Amir Thapa said the organisation is committed to supporting Nepal’s goal of job creation through increased U.S. investment by promoting transparent and investable frameworks.
The chamber said recent high-level engagements, including interactions with U.S. officials, have contributed to a favourable environment for expanding bilateral economic cooperation. It added that similar engagements will be expanded across key U.S. cities to mobilise diaspora expertise and investment.
