KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 5

Smart Choice Technologies (SCT) has launched its Access Control Server (ACS) service in Nepal, a significant step in enhancing digital payment security. The ACS, a key element of the global 3D Secure protocol, allows cardholders to authenticate transactions online, providing stronger protection against fraud.

The centralized platform enables banks and financial institutions to adopt advanced e-commerce security without the need for costly individual infrastructure.

Global IME Bank is the first in Nepal to subscribe to SCT’s ACS service, followed by NMB Bank, allowing their customers to experience secure and seamless online authentication.

SCT highlighted that the launch of ACS will not only improve safety for online shopping, ticketing, and payments but also promote consumer trust and support the country’s transition toward a cashless economy, aligning Nepal with international payment security standards.
