Rs 2.56 billion invested in startups in Koshi Province: NRB – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

A total of Rs 2.56 billion has been invested in startups in Koshi Province, according to a special study report by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
The report shows that 38.7 percent of the investment came through loans, while 61.3 percent was equity. Entrepreneurs aged 36 to 50 years account for the largest share of startups at 44.4 percent.
Sector-wise, 41.3 percent of startups are in agriculture, followed by production (18.1 percent), service (17.5 percent), tourism (13.8 percent) and information technology (9.4 percent).
However, youth engagement is highest in the information technology sector (73.3 percent) and lowest in agriculture (21.2 percent), indicating a strong tilt toward digital and technology-driven enterprises.
The study analyzed data from 160 startups shortlisted for credit support by the Industrial Enterprise Development Institute, covering agriculture, production, tourism, services and IT sectors.
