Chamber reiterates commitment to boosting Nepal–Italy trade, investment and tourism ties

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12

The Nepal Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NICCI) held its 12th Annual General Meeting in Kathmandu on Sunday, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, investment, tourism and business cooperation between Nepal and Italy.

The AGM was attended by NICCI patron Rajesh Kazi Shrestha as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, NICCI President Sanjay Agrawal and other speakers highlighted Italy’s continued support in Nepal’s development and the preservation of its cultural heritage.

The meeting re-elected Sanjay Agrawal as president for another three-year term, reflecting members’ confidence in his leadership. Outlining the chamber’s priorities for the coming years, Agrawal said NICCI will focus on deepening business-to-business engagement between Nepali and Italian enterprises, facilitating investment and policy dialogue, expanding tourism and cultural cooperation, and strengthening the chamber’s role as a results-oriented business platform.

On the occasion, Viinod Sagtani was honoured as Member of the Year 2025, while Kalyan Silwal received the NICCI CSR Community 2025 Award.

The AGM concluded with a renewed commitment to enhancing trade and investment facilitation and promoting closer economic and cultural collaboration between Nepal and Italy.
