KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 21
The last rites of Bipin Joshi were performed this morning on the banks of the Mahakali River.
His mortal remains were brought to his residence in Bheemdatta Municipality-3 on Monday evening from Israel, where he had been studying agriculture under the Learn and Earn Programme.
Before the cremation, a funeral procession was held, during which a contingent of the Armed Police Force presented a guard of honour, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohora of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
Local representatives, officials from administrative bodies and security agencies, and a large number of residents gathered to bid a final farewell to Joshi, who lost his life after being held hostage by Hamas for the past two years.
During the Hamas attack in Israel two years ago, seven other students from Sudurpaschim Province also lost their lives.
