Like Xiaomi and Vivo, Honor has also finally dropped its flagship phone for the year with the Honor Magic 8 Pro, which comes alongside the standard Honor Magic 8. This latest flagship has a lot to offer, particularly with a massive battery, the latest flagship chipset, and a new dedicated AI button. Now, let’s jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Honor Magic 8 Pro, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Honor Magic 8 Pro Overview

Display and Design

The Magic 8 Pro packs a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with a sharp 1256 x 2808-pixel resolution. The display size has shrunk a bit from 6.82 inches, but despite that, Honor is pushing the brightness envelope, claiming a peak of 6,000 nits with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The overall silhouette, with its circular camera island, remains a signature Honor look, now with IP68 and IP69K ratings for dust and high-pressure water resistance.

Battery

Honor has made a massive claim with the battery life. The Pro model packs a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery and will apparently last for two days. Indeed, the capacity alone is a huge jump from the 5,850mAh cell in the Magic 7 Pro, but recent comparisons tell a completely different story, particularly how optimization affects battery life a lot. Most batteries these days start degrading over a very short period of time; hence, the concept of long-term software for that reason has been a subject of major criticism. But let’s see how Honor plays with this one. Anyway, you’re getting 120W wired charging, but its 80W wireless charging only works with Honor’s proprietary charger.

Performance

At its core is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. A recent release, which has only been featured on the Xiaomi 17 Series so far, is nonetheless already an absolute beast and a headliner. It won’t be controversial to say that it is already the best flagship chipset of 2025. It’s interesting, though, that the RAM now tops out at 12GB, while last year’s Pro model went up to 16GB. And finally, another interesting feature about this guy is that it features a physical AI button, which acts as a shortcut for the Yoyo assistant and a camera shutter.

The camera hardware looks familiar on paper: a 50MP main, 200MP telephoto, and 50MP ultrawide. But one thing that’s worth noting is that the phone now shifts from the Magic 7 Pro’s variable aperture to a fixed f/1.6 lens here. The primary reason could be cost-cutting, just like how Apple ditched the premium Titanium for aluminum. Here, it’s very likely that Honor is relying more on AI processing now to make up for the lost hardware flexibility.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro is official in China at CNY 5,699. We don’t know if Honor Nepal will bring the Magic 8 Pro here. The company didn’t launch the Magic 7 series in Nepal, and the last Pro model we got was the Magic 6 Pro two years back. If it makes it to Nepal, we expect it to start at no less than NPR 145,000
