A.C. Sherpa launches global online drive to promote Pikey Peak – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper
KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 29
Honorary Consul General of Nepal for Washington State, USA, A.C. Sherpa, is spearheading a global social media campaign on November 1, 2025, to promote Pilkey Peak Mountain – The Hidden Heaven of Nepal and to rally support for the construction of a Buddha Park in in the area.
The initiative, which will go live at 10:45 p.m. Nepal time, encourages Nepalis worldwide to unite virtually via TikTok and other digital platforms. Organizers have synchronized the broadcast across multiple time zones – including 12:00 p.m. EST in the U.S. and Canada, 10:00 p.m. in India, 9:30 p.m. in Pakistan, 8:00 p.m. in Dubai, 11: p.m. in Thailand, and midnight in Singapore and Malaysia (November 2) – to ensure broad participation from the diaspora.
The entire amount raised from this TikTok game will be used to construct a “Buddha Park”, as a symbol of peace, culture, and unity, in the beautiful Pikey Peak area situated between Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga, the organisers said.
According to Sherpa, the campaign represents a shared effort to showcase Nepal’s natural and cultural beauty while contributing to a national symbol of peace and harmony. “Even a small contribution can make a big difference for Nepal’s peace and development,” the campaign message reads.
Through this campaign, Sherpa has called upon the global Nepali community to lend their digital voice and solidarity.
“Let’s join hands across borders – one click, one share, one support – to uplift Nepal’s pride and spirit,” he said.
A renowned mountaineer, social worker, and philanthropist, Sherpa has summited the highest peaks on all seven continents, including Mt. Everest, and is the founder of the 7 Summits Foundation, which provides healthcare and educational aid in remote Himalayan regions.
Originally from Tapting in Solukhumbu, Sherpa has been deeply involved in promoting Nepal’s tourism and welfare initiatives abroad. The Government of Nepal appointed him as Honorary Consul General for Washington State in recognition of his longstanding service to the Nepali community and his efforts in promoting tourism in the United States.
Earlier this year, he was also honored on Everest Day 2024 for his contributions to mountaineering and humanitarian work.
