Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has achieved a new global milestone as its 14 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolled off the production line at its Camaçari plant in Brazil.

The historic event was attended by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, and several senior officials. President Lula became the proud owner of the milestone vehicle, a BYD Song Pro, presented during the ceremony.

President Lula praised BYD’s investment, calling the factory “a symbol of hope and technological progress” for the people of Bahia.
