The British College (TBC) and the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly organise the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026, aiming to strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem and connect promising ventures with global opportunities.
The agreement designates CAN Federation as the strategic organising partner for Nepal’s chapter of the global startup competition. The MoU was signed by Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of The Kandel Group and The British College, and Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation and Founder CEO of One Cover Pvt Ltd.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will conduct provincial-level startup competitions, expand nationwide outreach, engage mentors and investors, and organise the national finale to identify Nepal’s most promising startups. The winner will represent Nepal at the Startup World Cup Global Grand Finale in Silicon Valley.
Speaking after the signing, Kandel said the partnership would create a stronger national platform for entrepreneurs to access mentorship, investment and international exposure. Adhikari said the collaboration would help strengthen Nepal’s technology and innovation ecosystem while providing startups with opportunities to connect with industry leaders, investors and global platforms.
Organised globally by Pegasus Tech Ventures, the Startup World Cup is one of the world’s largest startup pitch competitions, spanning more than 100 regional events across over 60 countries. Winners of the national chapters compete at the global finale in Silicon Valley for an opportunity to secure a US$1 million investment prize, subject to the competition’s terms and conditions.
According to the organisers, the partnership is expected to broaden support for Nepal’s emerging startup ecosystem by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship through a nationwide competition platform.
