KATHMANDU, JUNE 13

Former government secretary Bindra Hada Bhattarai has been appointed as an independent director on the Board of Directors of Global IME Bank.

The appointment was approved during a recent board meeting to fill the vacant position of Independent Female Director, the bank said in a statement.

Bhattarai brings more than 35 years of experience in public administration, governance and development management. During her career, she served in several key government institutions, including the National Planning Commission, National Information Commission, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

She holds master’s degrees in Chemistry and Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Law from Tribhuvan University. She has also pursued advanced studies in public policy and nonprofit management in the United States.

The bank said her experience is expected to contribute to its corporate governance, sustainability and strategic development initiatives.

The newly appointed director was welcomed by bank chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal at a ceremony attended by board members and senior management officials.
