KATHMANDU, MAY 20
Nepal women’s national cricket team defeated hosts Malaysia by two wickets in the first T20 International practice match at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia on Tuesday.
Chasing a modest target of 68 runs, Nepal reached 68-8 in 17.3 overs. Samjhana Khadka top-scored with 32 runs off 39 balls, while Rubi Poddar contributed 15 runs.
For Malaysia, Nur Qalysha claimed three wickets, while Aisya Eleesa and Elsa Hunter took two wickets each.
Earlier, Malaysia were bowled out for 67 runs in 16.5 overs after electing to bat first. Elsa Hunter was the top scorer with 10 runs.
For Nepal, Puja Mahato took three wickets, while Riya Sharma and Manisha Upadhyay grabbed two wickets each. Kabita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar claimed one wicket apiece.
Nepal are in Malaysia for the Asian Qualifier and ACC Premier Cup and are scheduled to play another practice match against the hosts on May 22.
