KATHMANDU, MAY 5
Nepal defeated Oman by 81 runs in an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match at TU Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 256, Oman were bowled out for 175 in 39.5 overs despite modest contributions from Hammad Mirza (34) and Vinayak Shukla (36).
Gulshan Jha starred with the ball, taking five wickets for 38 runs in nine overs. Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal were all out for 256 in 49.5 overs after electing to bat first. Opener Aasif Sheikh led the innings with 94 runs off 97 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes, and was named player of the match.
Arjun Kumal scored 48, while Aarif Sheikh added a quick 43 off 24 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 33 runs.
For Oman, Nadeem Khan took three wickets, while Shakeel Ahmed picked up two.
