American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal) has organised a strategic investment briefing in Manassas, Virginia, bringing together members of the Nepali diaspora, investors and business leaders to discuss opportunities in Nepal.
The event, held in collaboration with Everest Federal Credit Union, focused on promoting dialogue between international investors and Nepal’s priority sectors, particularly energy and technology.
AmCham Nepal’s founding president Ajit Bikram Shah and executive director Amir R Thapa highlighted Nepal’s evolving investment landscape, pointing to emerging opportunities alongside regulatory and structural challenges.
Discussions also centred on the role of the Nepali diaspora in supporting long-term economic growth, with participants raising issues such as Non-Resident Nepali frameworks and taxation clarity to improve investor confidence.
The programme noted recent government initiatives aimed at encouraging diaspora investment, while emphasising the need for policy stability, transparency and continued reforms to attract sustained investment.
AmCham Nepal said it would continue engaging stakeholders in Nepal and abroad to strengthen economic ties with the United States and promote long-term private sector collaboration.
