71pc of target population vaccinated against cholera in Bara and Parsa – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper
KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 18
Around 71 percent of the target population in Bara and Parsa districts have received cholera vaccines under an ongoing immunization campaign launched in response to recent outbreaks.
According to Dr. Abhiyan Gautam, Chief of the Child Health and Immunisation Service Section under the Family Welfare Division, 723,836 individuals have been vaccinated so far out of the total target of 1,001,860.
Of them, 456,778 were vaccinated in Parsa, where the campaign began on October 12, and 267,058 in Bara, where it started on October 13.
The vaccine is being administered to people above one year of age across all local levels of Parsa and six bordering local levels of Bara.
The first phase concludes tomorrow, with the next phase planned after Tihar, depending on the situation.
